THE KYOKO "DUEL MONSTERS" FORMAT

As of 05/10/04

In order to make the game more interesting for the storyline
portion of Edo's Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters PC Game, a format
for deck creation has been added to the game.

The Kyoko Format is a set of limitations for cards that you
can include in your deck. Please note that this "Kyoko Format"
only applies to the decks that you use in the storylines
during the game; your decks for the "standard" game may
still use the deck creation guidelines of the real card
game.

During the storyline games, the system automatically uses
the first deck that you have saved, also known as Deck
Slot 1. There is no way to change this, so please get used
to it.

The regulations for the Kyoko Format are the same as the
standard card game, but with a few alterations, which are
as follows.

1. EACH CARD IS LIMITED TO ONE PER DECK.

This means that you can only include up to 1 copy of any
particular card in your deck, even if it isn't on the
restricted list.

For example, you can only include up to 1 Y-Dragon Head
in your deck.

2. AS AN EXCEPTION TO RULE #1, YOU CAN INCLUDE UP TO 3
COPIES OF A SINGLE NORMAL MONSTER.

Normal Monster indicates a Monster card with the standard
yellow border -- in other words, without an effect. No,
"basic" Ritual Monsters and Fusion Monsters do not count.
You can include up to 3 copies of 1 Normal Monster card.
You can still include other Normal Monsters in your deck,
but they will still be restricted as in Rule #1.

For example, you can have up to 3 X-Head Cannon in your
deck and 1 Blood Vors, but not 3 X-Head Cannon and 2 Blood
Vors.

3. THERE IS A LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF RESTRICTED CARDS THAT
YOU CAN INCLUDE IN YOUR DECK.

You can only include up to 3 cards in your deck that
appear on the restricted list. It doesn't matter if it's
restricted to 1 per deck or 2 per deck; if it's on the
list, it counts toward this 3 per deck rule. Keep in mind
that even though a card may be restricted to 2 per deck
on the restriction list, because of rule #1, all cards are
restricted to 1 per deck.

For example, you can include 1 Thunder Bolt, 1 Change of
Heart and 1 Raise Dead in your deck, but you couldn't have
all of them AND 1 Harpy's Feather Sweep. That would
exceed the 3 restricted cards per deck limit for the
Kyoko Format.

The only exceptions to this rule are the following cards.
These cards are on the restricted list and still limited
to 1 per deck as by rule #1, but count as "free"
restricted cards.

        JAR OF GREED
        SEALED LEFT ARM
        SEALED RIGHT ARM
        SEALED LEFT LEG
        SEALED RIGHT LEG
        SEALED EXODIA
