Hrzic III Last updated: 99/03/13 ----------------------------------------------------------------- I. What is it? The Pokebot is a way to play Solitaire Pokemon. Note that this Pokebot is NOT going to give you a run for your money, or be an intelligent opponent. It's simply based upon a roll of dice. Sure, you can cheat if you want. But cheating simply to beat a set of tables isn't very gratifying (besides, you'll never forgive yourself) Release History: v1.5 The second release of this file. How to Play It You're going to need a six-sided die for this Pokebot (go raid your Monopoly game for one). At first, you're going to have to roll to create the opponent's Pokemon (Table A). You have to roll for (each of) the Pokemon's HP, if it has a Resistance, if it has a Weakness, and roll for the type of Pokemon it is. If the Pokemon has a Resistance and/or Weakness, roll under the "Type" column for that Resistance and/or Weakness. If you get the same result, for both the Resistance and Weakness, just re-roll weakness. Each time that you Knock Out your opponent's Pokemon, you need to roll for a new Pokemon. For the first two Pokemon, don't modify the Pokemon's HP roll. For the second two Pokemon, add 1 to the Pokemon's HP roll. For the last two, add 2 to the Pokemon's HP roll. During the Pokebot's turn, roll the die, look at the result, and apply it. For the second two Pokemon, the Pokebot starts on Table 2. For the last two Pokemon, the Pokebot starts on Table 3. This means that, after you apply the result, on the Pokebot's next turn, you roll on the next table up (i.e., from Table 1 to 2, or from 3 to 4). Some say to stay on the same table, in which case you (surprise) don't advance. Other results sometimes have a number in parenthesis after it. For example: (+1), (-1), etc. This number is usually in reference to a table that you have to roll on. When you roll on the indicated table, modify the roll by that number. III. "Your next attack..." means just that. Not "on your next turn", but the next attack you make, whether it IS next turn, or three turns down the line (b.) If you use a card that causes the opponent to lose an Energy card, for each Energy card lost, move the Pokebot down one table on its next turn (minimum of Table 1). (c.) If you don't wish to flip a coin, instead use the D6 that is needed for the Pokebot; either do Even = Heads, Odd = Tails; or 1-3 = Heads, 4-6 = Tails. (d.) "...most least-powerful Benched Pokemon." means a Pokemon that has the least amount of Energy cards on it, plus what you think would be your least-powerful one.
